Mission

Equatorians have been presented with an opportunity to test our abilities, talents and inscribe a meaningful and more accurate vision of our real greatness in the pages of history. To achieve our goals, ELF is striving to:

  1. Provide a robust platform for positive discussions, sharing experiences and best practices, to help develop policies and make decisions on matters of strategic importance to Equatoria people.
  2. Harness development of skilled personnel, resources, and intellectual capacities and fostering unity among Equatorians to provide competent leadership in South Sudan
  3. Foster unity of purpose, influence policies and decisions relevant to Equatorians and harness cooperation to provide alternative leadership to realise a stable, peaceful and democratic South Sudan
  4. Strengthen the democratic values in the country through rational-political discourse. By being incorruptible and maintaining the values of professionalism and internal democratic values and efficiency, we portray the region and country that we want to see. With that in mind, we individually and as a community of Equatorians strive to engage as many compatriots as possible in the substantive quest for attainable solutions

Commitments

The Nation-State existence depends on the delivery of political goods to its citizen, in terms of Security, Health, Education, and Economic opportunities, Justice, and in addition to all those a requirement to meet fundamental infrastructural needs.

We commit to carrying out all the normal functions of government following the principles of good governance with simultaneous State building and democracy-building with skilled civil service and strong institutions that work across sectors

Our Values in Action

To achieve ELF’s vision, a number of activities (see Matrix) are undertaken by various actors including individuals, scholars, politicians, farmers, civil societies, churches must be carried out. Fundamental to these activities are five main considerations; principles of developing leadership, Formation of a governing body, Case building, Fund-raising, and leadership development.

  1. LEADERSHIP: Build Equatoria leaders and develop leadership proficiencies to achieve good governance and real democracy through training and public enlightenment
  2. FREEDOM AND INDEPENDENCE: ‘Stop war, land occupation and tribal hegemony in Equatoria; advocate for equality, freedom, justice and the rule of law; promote federal governance; Create the opportunity for creativity, innovation, and social, economic and skill development to ensure the best service provision in Equatoria;
  3. UNITY: Establish a Community Organisation to provide fair and transparent leadership to the people of Equatoria. The organisation shall provide guidance; promote Equatoria unity and cooperation; protect Equatorial cultural heritage and freedom;
  4. CONSCIOUSNESS: Create, civil, political and cultural awareness through various media to inform Equatoria families at all levels, where ever they are, to know and stand for their rights and freedom.
  5. INTEGRITY: Promote and demonstrate a consistency of actions, and deep commitment to doing the right thing for the right reason, regardless of the circumstances. Integrity is one of the fundamental values of leadership. It is the hallmark of a person who demonstrates sound moral and ethical principles, the foundation on which ELF members shall build trust, and effective interpersonal relationships.
